HI,

I’m William Giovinazzo, but you can call me Bill.

I have been in the Business Intelligence / Data Science business for slightly more than twenty years now. In that time, I have implemented systems both large and small for companies varying in size from international corporations to mom & pop startups. With all that experience, you could imagine, I have learned a thing or two, which brings us to the reason for this blog.

In the quiet of the evening, after the labors of the day have been put aside, I have a few moments contemplate my profession and our industry. In those times of contemplation, I start to think of how exciting it has been to see the advancements we have made in those years, but that would only be part of the story. It would be wrong to say that it was an exciting ride. Today, where we are going is incredible.  What we are doing is fascinating. It IS an exciting ride. That is the subject of this blog. I want to take what I have learned and discuss with you where we are going.

Have you ever watched a kids’ soccer game? I am talking about kids who are five or six years old. They are like a flock of birds, running to where the ball IS. In the time it takes them to get there, they end up where the ball WAS. Eventually, they learn to go to where the ball IS GOING TO BE. That is what we are going to discuss. Not where business intelligence and data science is, but where business intelligence and data science is going to be. We are going to do to our industry what our industry does to everything else, we are going to look at the past and present to understand where we are going to be in the future. We will cover a variety of topics from project management techniques to prescriptive analytics.

So, I invite you to join us. Subscribe. Follow. Comment. Let’s use this place to talk about business intelligence and data science, learning from one another.
